At my boarding school-a virtual Colditze in the cotswolds,actualy it was’nt that bad-only the headmaster was permitted to give the cane but he could call in any form master to also administer discipline but the head would have to be present:on occassion if the headmaster decided that a particular boy was in need of a very,very severe caning he would always hand over his cane to the biology teacher,a certain Mr Mettcalfe who was the hardest caner in the school by a long margin;six of the best from him had you walking crabwise whistling Dixie.
Anyway due to this the PE teacher couldn’t cane,or slipper you as much as really would have liked to-and if for whatever reason,and there always was one,that he decided that you needed to feel a good hard six over the heads desk then he sent you on the ‘long walk’
