The first time I was caned I had to line up outside the Headmaster’s study with my hands on my head and facing the wall. There were two boys ahead of me in the line and the first boy was called in. I could hear the swish of the cane and the thwack sound as it struck the boy’s bottom. There were a few cries of pain from the study and I heard the Headmaster instructing the boy to bend over and touch his toes after some of the strokes. When the boy was dismissed the next boy was called in and I could hear him being caned and ordered to bend and touch his toes after a couple of the strokes.
