My Housemaster was much too strict and at a whim or the urging of the prefects would order a House beating. No amount of pleading or urging would deflect him from his course especially if the dreaded prefects required it.To this day I feel hard done by over taking punishment when we were entirely innocent. I often wonder why we did and there is no way today’s teenagers would and more power to them. Added to this was the indignity as a senor having to take it with,in front or beside juniors since all ages resided in my House. Group punishments are wrong. Individual cases of corpOral punishment I had no problem with including my own. Anyone else have similar experiences or feel the same.
