Yes, I do think that much beyond primary school age it is undesirable to subject boys and girls to severe corporal punishment together, and I was surprised that this was the practice at Jenny’s school, but that reservation had nothing to do with misgivings about who would take the punishment in the best style. I have absolutely no doubt that some boys and some girls might take it well, and some boys and some girls might take it badly and in some cases all participants of one sex, girls or boys, might take it better than the other sex. My objection relates simply to the possibility (of which there is some evidence in most related forums) that boys especially might be influenced towards a fetishistic interest in corporal punishment by such a process.
