At junior school circa 1965 i was taught by the lovely Miss Ross. She was always threatening to cane us or promising that she would warm our bottoms for us. She was however much too nice to ever want to hurt anyone.That said if she caught you out of your seat especially if you were one of her favourites she would say “this boy is out of his place, he must have ants in his pants. Only one cure i’m afraid”. She would bend you over in front of an appreciative audience of classmates and smack your bum until all the “ants” had been dealt with.
