Not many of us myself included escaped the raps over the knuckles with the ruler by our music teacher, this wasn’t particularly painful on the grand scale of things unless it caught your edge which occasionally happened, Miss M was also an arm and leg slapper, luckily being talented at music I avoided the feel of her hand. Pulling my tooth out in her lesson only warranted the ruler treatment thank goodness.
