Turning curiosity into actively trying out any of the other examples is, I submit, something that a “normal” person might be tempted to do without necessarily having any great inclination in that direction.
My problem is that I experienced an extremely strong inclination towards most aspects of corporal punishment, especially in a scholastic context, from a very early age – certainly well before I stopped wearing short trousers at the age of 12. Much of this fascination may well have been fuelled by my exposure to others who suffered slipper and cane at the hands of teachers but I am also fairly certain that I was inherently “that way inclined”. This makes it impossible for me to understand why some people would wish to “try it out” – hence this thread. I am also fairly sure that the postings on this forum that I spoke of were from people who described themselves as being merely curious.
