Seriously, from what you say, you would attempt to treat both sexes fairly so I won’t criticise that. You say girls should not be caned as hard, not because they’re girls but because, if your procedure were followed, they would have less protection. However, the relevant difference is that level of protection, not their sex. That’s fair enough but you also say you would be loath to cane a girl as hard as a boy so, by caning a girl on her knickers and a boy through his trousers, you justify caning her with less force. A lot of girls wear trousers for school now so, unless they have to take them down to be caned, there’s no justification for using less force. Also, at least one boy wore a skirt to school so your reasons should also apply to him. Sex is irrelevant, it’s what the child is wearing that counts.
