I know a family of FOUR girls who were too young to receive the cane at school, but whose father had other ideas when it came to misbehaviour at home. He’s not a heartless monster, he’s a great guy and they’re a close and loving family. Didn’t do them any harm at all.
Now if you think corporal punishment of minors is totally wrong I can accept and respect that, but saying it’s acceptable only if administered to boys and not girls I’ll always challenge. I’m a father, and grandfather too, of both boys and girls, and I want the best opportunities for ALL our offspring without them being constrained into gender-specific roles and life experiences, beyond the unavoidable biological ones.
