This actually makes our students feel safe.

Consider – simply put – would you rather be in a school where (even if you are badly behaved) every day, there’s a less than 1% chance a teacher might hurt you in a controlled way if you deserve it (and there are processes in place to try and make sure that it will only happen in those cases) – or in a school where there is a 10% chance every single day that another boy might hurt you in a totally uncontrolled way for no good reason at all? (and the figures for the number of children who are bullied at least once a fortnight – that 10% chance a day – are remarkably high in many schools).
