“It’s not hard to find accounts of people who feel they’d been brutalised by sadistic teachers in school. However I believe they’re vastly outnumbered by people who realised they’d been appropriately punished for wrongdoing and don’t bear a grudge. Go to any poll or discussion which seems to reflect the account of ordinary people and more will wish to see the return of CP in schools than otherwise.”
The problem with such statements is that they don’t take into account that people who post about their corporal punishment experiences are only a fraction of the people who HAVE those experiences. It is my opinion that those who post have very strong feelings about corporal punishment, which are often paraphilic in nature (whether they admit to having a paraphilia or not).
