I’m sure that’s true to some extent, although I have no idea how one would estimate just how prevalent it was. On the other hand, I really don’t see how anyone would class the old Scottish method of CP, using a tawse across the hand, as sexual.
Fairness and moderation were not my experience and matrices are far from perfect in avoiding them. Teachers too often say they need latitude to do what they they think is best for their kids on the basis of their prior knowledge of the pupil or their vast experiences as educators. Categories like disrespectful and disruptive behavior without definition enables a teacher to rule by fear according to their caprice.
