Employed at Montem Primary in Hornsey Road, London, N7 was slipper-mad Mr. Jarvis.
Does anyone remember Mr Jarvis a large and scary man? I remember the very large slipper he took to my behind for talking too much in class. Then when my mother found out he had hit me she interrupted the PE lesson to humiliate me a little more by telling this dumbfounded man what she thought of him. Oh, the shame. Were any of you there? Also with fond memories of Mr Robinson’s gym club, Mr Jarvis and the slipper (or rather the large plimsole from Woolworths) and of course my favorite place, Hornsey Road swimming baths, alas no longer used. Great fun was had by all at Montem.
