You say in reference to my desire to see my own school’s punishment book
“Hmm, even if the relevant book has survived somewhere in official records you might have to wait a few years yet before it is accessible, and even when it is names and identifying details may be redacted. However, if you are in the book yourself I think you have a right to see that record (or records). Depending on how brass-faced you are it may be worth asking the school or the relevant LEA if the book is accessible. Technically I think they should only let you see your own entry (or entries) but who knows, they might just sit you down somewhere and hand over the book.
