The truth (and we all know it) is that the CP of females in British schools was – when compared to the CP of males – a comparative rarity.
Throughout British history, females punished girls on the hand in a great many schools, while males punished girls on the hand in many, albeit far fewer, schools. Females punished girls on the bum in many schools while males did so comparatively rarely.
We could spend forever and a day ‘betting’ what did and didn’t happen behind the closed doors of Headmasters’ offices but it would be a pointless exercise as there is no way to resolve such bets.
