First post here as well, been lurking for ages but this thread does really remind me of school days. I was a teenage smoker at my mixed grammar in the late 70’s and it was normal lunchtime procedure to smoke in the woods behind the school. We all knew that the teachers knew we smoked there but they didn’t tend to bother us (5th form pupils) there much but of course eventually it was bound to happen. We got caught with a couple of boys and were marched off to see the Headmaster (male and dealt with the boys with the cane) and Headmistress (dealt with girls using a slipper) for our punishments.
