Our rules were simple and harsh. If you got caught with smokes on you or smoking you were given three strokes of the cane for every smoke you had on you. The cane was always on the backside and you had to take every stroke without jumping up, rubbing or reaching back. If you didnt they would simply start again. I only smoked the once at school and I have never forgotten the pain it caused me. On top of that was the fact that the cane was only given on a Friday afternoon so I had four days to look forward to it and it was given in the main school hall in front of everybody. The rules were the same for girls and boys although you were given the option of being caned by a female or male teacher.
