A little after the reunion, I found out that Margaret, in her professional capacity had been involved in an “Inspection Team” whose job was to inspect private school establishments in the county. This was a national requirement during the 80’s and afterwards. She was on the team that carried out an inspection of “The Rodney School” near Newark and their report was heavily critical of the fact that corporal punishment was used on girl students! It took me some time to stop laughing before I felt more than a little nauseous at the hypocrisy.
