Bacon’s used CP with both sexes so a higher-than-average rate can be expected. Interestingly, more boys than girls were caned so either CP (or the threat of it) is more (rather than less) effective on girls and doesn’t cause an increase in misbehavior, or boys were caned excessively.

There is, I accept, other evidence of other types of abuse at Bacons and, overall, CP does seem to have been used a bit too often. Was that abuse really any worse than in those schools that caned boys even though they didn’t believe the cane was necessary?
