In quite a few cases in New South Wales with the reintroduction of its Fair Discipline Code, it became apparent that the parents of girls were blocking reintroduction of corporal punishment in schools where the parents of boys wanted it reintroduced. I believe that that situation was sexist in that it meant that the needs of girls were given a higher priority than the needs of boys and the opinions of parents of daughters a disproportionate weight over the opinions of parents of sons.
