I want to say today what we tried to tell that man 25 years ago; and I expect to be believed. We were innocent. We had not done the thing we were accused of. The headmaster was mistaken when he judged that we had agreed an alibi and that we were all lying. And the vicious punishment he inflicted on those six small boys was for an offense they had not committed – had, in fact, done their best to prevent.
