Have you ever been to Mansfield? I know it very well. Believe me, if you’re looking for feral youngsters Mansfield has them in spades! In fairness to Mansfield most of them come from the swathe of run down estates surrounding the town, but I don’t doubt that the majority of the kids in that class set out to destroy a vulnerable teacher, and clearly the jury agreed. Even when not at their best no teacher as competent and experienced as everyone seems to agree Mr Harvey was is going to lose it like that because a couple of kids are misbehaving. He had what was effectively total anarchy on his hands.
