It is immaterial whether or not today’s teachers are of the same caliber as their predecessors. Regulations simply don’t allow them to deal with these situations even if they could. As a result youngsters who’d have been pulled up and severely disciplined by teachers or parents long before they started carrying knives and threatening to use them in school now get arrested and finish up with a criminal record. Teachers and parents can’t lay a finger on the little darlings to secure good behavior or even break up a fight – against regulations! Instead, we impose that task on an overburdened police force – who of course are already hampered by numerous regulations designed to prevent them from carrying out their proper job of crime detection and prevention!
