Even allowing for the confustion, the article still contains at least two errors besides the errors concerning Victoria:

Due to statutory regulations, corporal punishment is banned in all schools in the ACT, Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania.

Leave aside Victoria, for a moment (where it could be stated a statuatory regulation does exist, it just hasn’t taken effect yet), there is no such ban in either South Australia, or Western Australia (or in Queensland although the article does not include that in error). The error is a significant one – because not only does neither South Australia or Western Australia have a ban, they also have no intention on introducing one at the moment.
