Depending on how fast the teacher marked them, we would get the results back any day from Tuesday to Friday. Most of the slippering took place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It was pot luck that decided whether you got two whackings in close succession if you did badly in two tests. With tests in 7 or 8 subjects it was a often a question of prioritizing and one of the factors to be taken into account was how hard a particular teacher whacked.
