I mentioned in an earlier post the first time I saw someone get 12 (the boy who urinated in the shower after P.E.). The next day he had the misfortune to be slippered again in the classroom. He and another boy got two each for talking in French. I remember how utterly miserable he looked as he was waiting for his turn to bend over. When he was being slippered he winced each time the slipper landed on his bottom and he cried much more than one would expect a lad to cry after getting two of the slipper. I am sure it hurt a lot more because his backside was still tender as a result of the previous day’s slippering. Whenever I had had a really hard slippering I always tried to stay out of trouble for at least the next two days.
