Caning experiences clearly differ greatly presumably because canes, caners and canees differ greatly. Although certainly no laughing matter, the canings of my boyhood days were well tolerated by most boys. I use the term well tolerated in the medical sense no severe or lasting or unexpected adverse effects.
During my 13 years of schooling I received the cane three times, twice in primary school and once in secondary school. Only the Head of the schools I attended could administer the cane and on each occasion I received the maximum number of strokes. The main difference between my experiences and the others on the forum is that I received the cane on my hands.
