I must agree,2/4/6 does seem a bit strange-maybe it’s the even numbers that appeal.However,I have heard of many a 3/6 caning arrangement which to me strikes a happy-if indeed you can call it that-balance between a caning that’s going to hurt a little and one that’s going to hurt a lot!
At public schools,where canings were much,much harder they caned in multiples of three–3/6/9/12–where no doubt whatsoever an enthusiastic headmaster would’te even give 3 a second thought,and come to that,niether six!
