Never having been caned by either of them, I’m not really in a position to make a valid comparison. I was only caned by the Associate Headmaster (AHM) twice, and one of those canings was no more than a “token” (for flashing my boobs to a group of boys). The other caning from him was two strokes for persistently taking a short cut through an out of bounds area and they weren’t what I would call “of the best”. The only comparison I can make is with the five canings I received from the Headmistress (HM). (I’ll ignore the one I received from her predecessor as that was the first time I got the cane, I was only 12, and it was on my hand.) Another problem is the number of strokes involved. The least I received from the HM was three but, as I just said, I only got two from the AHM. Overall, stroke for stroke, I can’t say there was any difference between being caned by the AHM and being caned by the HM.
