In the case of the cane, The first two weren’t too bad (that wasn’t true when I got my final “six of the VERY best” though. ), the third was when the pain really started to kick in. I wouldn’t say the fourth was beyond “Ouch” (unless the strokes crossed) but it was quite a bit louder. The fifth was about a bad as the previous four put together but the pain of the sixth was tempered by the knowledge that it was all over
