Was at Lourdes during the seventies when the use of the belt was rife. There were 6 teachers in particular who used to walk about the playground and the school buildings with their belts and belted people as if there was no tomorrow. One teacher, in particular, Miss Mullen used to wait at the gate for latecomers both in the morning and after lunch to administer 2 to younger girls and 4 to the seniors. It was barbaric.
