The girl in question , girl H , also got an MA from Birmingham Uni. It is something of a surprise as she was never in anything like the top set. She , like the other girl involved in the leg smacking incident, went to a different school in the sixth form. This was probably due to the fact that my school went comprehensive whilst I was in the sixth, though I don’t think things changed that much at the time.
Girl H was once involved in a quite spectacular cat fight, and both girls were dragged along to the Headmistress. They may have been caned, but not sure.
