One of my friends (Denise) admitted to suffering this fate personally when she was about 15 (7 years or so before I knew her). The other girl never admitted first hand experience but added with assurance that girls were sometimes or fairly often required to pull their knickers tight between the legs and up off their buttocks so that the cane landed on bare flesh (a detail neither volunteered nor denied by Denise). I always wondered how she could be sure of this if she hadn’t experienced it – but didn’t know her long enough to find out!
