Again, it may interest you to know – I’m not a great supporter of the idea of parents using corporal punishment with their children. I do not oppose it in particular, but I tend to think that parents who are dealing with only a small number of children, they know incredibly well, and with a duty to make their child their absolute priority in life in terms of time and effort, will normally be able to find some other way of dealing with behaviour – it’s a very different situation from a school with at least hundreds of children, and less time to spend on each individual child – but my point is, I don’t think you’d give up on your child until you found something that worked.
