Why do Teachers disobey the rules? Good question.
For my part, I agree with Bob that SOME do it because it feeds their own satisfaction/fetish, but I suspect that’s a minority, such as the slipperings a writer here a few years ago called JJ used to boast about. More common I believe is arrogance and laziness. How many times have you heard, or been told by a teacher that something is against the rules.? What sort of response would you expect if you said, for example, ‘I didn’t read them’ or ‘I wasn’t listening when the Head/Principal announced this. Not a good reception I’d wager. Yet, to take just one example of late – Springtown Texas, when the AP who broke the same-sex paddling rule (in a school with 75% female teachers) that’s exactly the two excuses he had – he hadn’t read the rules despite being in charge of applying them, and he’d sat through at least one ISD meeting where they were fully discussed and ‘couldn’t remember’.
