The few boys that tested Ms. Presto usually went to the hall and returned with a red face.
I didn’t measure the paddle, but the blade seemed like it was a foot long or a couple inches longer. You can add another 5 or 6 inches for the handle. I’m thinking the paddle was 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick. Every teacher had a different size paddle.
In the 80’s at my Junior High and High School, our cheerleaders wore navy blue spandex cheer briefs. Since we sucked in basketball, the highlight of most games was watching one of the cheerleaders do that full court cartwheel or backflip. That was worth the price of admission. I think Lisa suffered more with her swats because they caught her just below the leg band of those briefs where she was exposed.
