The bedwetting may have been due to fear of punishment for bed wetting thus furthering a “catch22 cycle.”
Of course psychology has a theory that whenever other humans are put in a guarding capacity over other humans then there is a strong tendency for brutality to surface.
mild electric shock experiment,rats in acage etc etc.
george orwell talks about this in one of his essays. he says he was caned for wetting the bed, and that it was a horrible thing to do to a child….but that it seemed to work.
