Has this “grand” tradition of public CP died out, I ask?
I’ve seen 3 in my time, luckily none involving me as the recipent.
The first two were age 7 or 8, both in North Greenwich, Caters & David Greigs the supermarkets. One was a boy about my age & didn’t see what he did, but was marched to the line of chairs, wooden in those days, by the window for shoppers. Mum put him over her knee and delivered a dozen good hard smacks to the seat of his trousers, having landed 3 or 4 stingers on the back of his shorted legs on the way-talk about value for money! Plenty of wailing here.
